The New Car Checklist

For some, their car is their most prized possession, but when purchasing one that’s really special, you’re often going to find yourself wondering how best to protect it. This should be the case for every car, people, and there are multiple things you need to set in place before firing that engine.

First off, be responsible, and ensure that your car insurance, breakdown cover, and any other legally required or sensible measures are place in case something goes wrong with your new motor. It’s a sad day when it gives out, but it means that if that ever happens, you can simply shrug and wait for the mechanic, or know that you’re going to have the repairs paid for. Some people don’t always bother with breakdown cover, and some people don’t even bother with insurance! If this is you, be smart, and avoid jail – get these two done first.

You’ll also need to ensure the car is in full working order. Usually, this means an MOT or a similar evaluation process, but if you’re buying a classic car that’s extremely run-down for the purposes of refurbishment, then you’re going to need to do a long series of checks. Find a checklist on the web or speak to your local mechanic, and you’ll soon establish what’ll cost to get everything up and running again.

Lastly, and don’t forget this bit: brag. It’s a new car, not a bus ticket! Show it off, enjoy it, give rides to friends and loved ones, and really make use of it! There’s nothing worse than someone who’s overly modest about their new wheels, as people love to fawn over a motor that’s fresh into your drive-way. So be smart, be legal, be responsible, and go enjoy it!
